I hope that everyone has had a great week. We finally got some SUN in Charlotte (Praise Jesus) and it has been amazing. When it’s sunny outside my mood just gets better. Is anyone else like that? I also love my blogging pictures so much more when it is sunny outside so I was so excited to get some awesome pictures in some new outfits for you guys. Can’t wait to share those in the weeks to come!
I had to share with y’all my favorite cardigan. It has the cutest tie sleeves and would be perfect to wear to any of your Thanksgiving festivities. Not to mention that it is on MAJOR sale right now and comes in 2 other colors. But seriously it is over 50% off right now so if you want it I would definitely get it now. This is a cardigan that you will definitely get your wear out of. I find myself grabbing it out of my closet all the time. I paired it with this amazing cami bodysuit but it would also look great paired with a loose fitting tank or t-shirt for an even more casual look. I am thinking about wearing this cardigan Thanksgiving day but I will definitely be pairing it with my favorite t-shirt because let’s be honest FOOD BABY does not equal bodysuit hahaha. Speaking of Thanksgiving who is ready to stuff their face?? This girl sure is.
I have had so many collaborations recently that I really haven’t been able to write about anything that’s been on my heart so I am so happy to be able to do that now. Whenever I am driving long distances I always listen to sermons so the other week when I was driving back from Athens, GA I put on a sermon from Elevation Church. The verse that Pastor Steven Furtick spoke about was Matthew 18:21-22: “Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him “I do not say to you seven times but seventy times seven”. Read that again and really think about that verse. Isn’t it crazy to think about? We as humans always think that if a person does something wrong against us a certain amount of times that we have to be “done with them” and walk away. Often times when we walk away it leaves a sense of bitterness that often hurts us in the long run. But God calls us to forgive over and over and over again. He tells us that we should keep no records of wrong. I don’t know about you, but I think that is one of the hardest things to do. It is SO hard to forgive someone who has hurt us over and over and over again. I do agree that sometimes if someone does enough damage that it is best for us to walk away from that person or situation so that we can live in peace and not have to deal with unnecessary toxicity. However, I think where the issue lies is when we walk away with hatred and bitterness and resentment. If there is one thing that I have learned this year after everything that I have been through, it is that I cannot hold onto anger. My heart can’t do it. And most importantly, I know Jesus doesn’t want me to do it. Holding onto bitterness and not forgiving others hurts me more than anything. Even though we don’t normally think about this, not forgiving others hurts us more than it actually hurts the other person. In the past couple of months thanks to therapy and a whole lot of Jesus and guidance, I have learned to completely let go of all hurt and all pain and most importantly I have forgiven those that have hurt me. Y’all, when I truly forgave and truly gave it to God I was set FREE. It is amazing how that happens. I no longer harp on bitterness. I no longer harp on the pain. I no longer have hatred. I gave it all to God and I forgave. Is there anyone or any situation in your life that has caused you pain or that you are really bitter about? I urgeeeeee you to give it to God. I urge you to forgive, not for the other person, but for yourself. If you do this God will give you the peace that will set you free and it is such an amazing gift.
XOXO,
Katy
