I hope that everyone had the best weekend! My husband was out of town at a bachelor party in Charleston so I hung around Charlotte and got to catch up and hang with a couple of my girlfriends which was really nice. Girl time is always much, much needed! It is good for the soul.
I wanted to share with y’all this new little tie front romper that I found. Yellow and pink are two of my favorite colors this season so I absolutely loveeeee this entire outfit. This romper is made of the softest silk material which I really love and it is super comfy. Almost feels like you are wearing PJs! It does fit TTS, I am wearing my normal size small. However, I definitely think the XS would have worked as well because it does run a tad big. I also found it available in a dress version which I love here. To bring out the pink in the romper I decided to dress this look up with my new favorite pink Kendra Scott earrings and pink Kendra Scott bracelets. I have a huge obsession with the new Kendra Scott collection that just launched and I will be talking more about that in my blog post on Wednesday! This romper is so cute for the Spring and Summer and could be worn to so many things. Also very easy to dress up or down. It would look super cute with sandals if heels aren’t your thing! I wore my favorite sticky bra with this romper and they work perfectly. I wear this sticky bra with pretty much everything. It is the best bra I have ever found and I highly recommend it! It can be reworn soooo many times so definitely worth the money!
Okay, so now let’s talk about these blogging updates. The past week or so I have noticed that my engagement on Instagram has been dropping a little so naturally I wanted to try and figure out why. So on Friday morning I got on my Instagram stories and asked you guys your opinion on some things. Below is a recap of most of the feedback I received as well as my thoughts on everything:
1) A lot of you aren’t “liking” as many blogger pictures because of the liketoknow.it changes that have come with Instagram’s API changes. This one was great feedback for me and something that I definitely want to address ASAP. So yes, it is unfortunate that Instagram had to make some API changes and in return you can no longer “like” my pictures on Instagram and then automatically receive the liketoknow.it emails where you can shop my looks. However, there are SO many other ways to shop. Below are the easiest ways:
- Clicking the link in my Instagram bio. 90% of the time you can click the link in my bio and it will take you directly to where you can shop all of my outfits. The page is called “Shop Instagram Outfits” and you can find it here. All you have to do is click on the picture of the outfit that you are wanting to shop from, and all of the product links will be directly under that picture. Just click on the product picture and it will take you directly to where you can buy. Sometimes the link in my bio may be my recent blog post but you can still get to this page by going to the “Shop Instagram Outfits” tab on my blog. It’s that easy!
- Visit my “Shop Instagram Outfits” on my blog. I just talked about this in the bullet point above but if you go to www.mumuandmacaroons.com, you will see a tab at the top titled “Shop Instagram Outfits” and you can ALWAYS go here to shop any of my looks.
- Following me in the LiketoKnow.it app. This way is also super easy. All you have to do is download the app on your phone. It is free and is available for Apple and Android users! Once you download the app, open it up, and then go to the magnifying glass search symbol at the bottom right of the screen. Then in the influencer search bar type in “Mumu and Macaroons” and you will see me pop up. Click the “follow” button beside my name. And voila! Just like that you are following me in the liketoknow.it app. Anytime you want to know how to shop a look of mine all you have to do is click on my name in the app, all of my looks will be right there, then you just click on what picture you want to shop from and the product links are under the picture. It really is just that easy. I will also start posting exclusive content to my LiketoKnow.It app so make sure to follow me there! These will be outfits that I am not posting to my Instagram page so you will be able to see and shop a ton of other looks/outfits that you may love that won’t be visible on my Instagram.
- Send me a DM on Instagram for product links. Any time you are on Instagram and see an outfit of mine that you like, you can always send me a direct message on Instagram asking me for outfit links. I usually try to respond to all DM’s within 24-48 hours. Please just make sure to let me know exactly which outfit you are looking for so that I can be sufficient on sending you the right link. A lot of people tend to comment on my pictures saying that they would like the link to something which is fine but sometimes comments get lost in the mix for me and checking my direct messages is way easier. So if you want to get my attention quickly please go ahead and send me a DM vs leaving a comment!
- Taking a screenshot of my pictures on Instagram. By taking a screenshot of any outfits you like on my Instagram, you can still get an email with the liketoknow.it shoppable links just like you used to be able to do by liking my pictures. As soon as you screenshot any of my pictures, an email will be sent to you with product links as long as you are signed up with liketoknow.it.
I also wanted to talk about how important engagement still is on Instagram. Even though you won’t be getting an email sent to you from liketoknow.it if you “like” my picture on Instagram, it is still SO important to continue to engage with my content by liking and/or commenting on my Instagram posts. The reason is because of the Instagram Algorithm. The Instagram Algorithm is a tricky thing but basically Instagram figures out what posts it decides to show you on your feed by how often you engage on another person’s account. If you all of a sudden stop liking my content then Instagram will think this is you not wanting to see my posts anymore and in return I will never show up on your news feed and you will never see any of the outfits that I am posting. This is very unfortunate but this is just how the Instagram algorithm works. It is hurting a lot of us but educating you guys about it is the only way that we can try and move past it. If you still want to continue to see my posts on your feed and not miss any outfits, please continue to engage with my pictures by liking and/or commenting on them. This will let Instagram know that you are still interested in my content and I will still show up on your feed. You can also turn on post notifications for me on Instagram and you will be notified every time that I post something. For directions on how to set up post notifications, you can read the directions here. It is really easy to do!
2) Some of you told me that you would like to start seeing some more casual/everyday wear looks. I appreciate your feedback so much on this and I will start to add in a few casual looks every now and then. But I do want to be very honest about something. I have never been a person to spend a lot of money on casual clothing. I love to spend money on date night/going out looks and love to wear clothes that make me feel pretty and confident. Sometimes casual clothing can tend to bore me and they are something that I don’t get very excited about which is why you don’t see a ton of that on my Instagram page. When I do wear casual clothes when I am running errands or doing things like that I normally just throw on an old t-shirt and shorts or put on workout clothes. However, since you guys did give me this feedback I will work on putting together some cute casual looks for you. I do want you to know that I want to continue to stay 100% true to myself and to my style though so most of the looks that you will be seeing will be my usual rompers, two piece sets, dresses, shorts and tops, etc. I also LOVE wearing heels. The only time you won’t see me wearing heels is when I am running an errand, at the pool or at the gym. LOL. But it is so true. I just love dressing up and heels/wedges make me feel dressed up. It’s just who I am and who I always will be.
3) Some of you told me that you would like to see more occasion wear. This is something that I have been trying to do more of and will continue to do more of. I am really into wedding season dresses right now and I will continue to post those for you guys. We have a ton of weddings to go to this year so I am constantly on the hunt for new dresses to wear to Spring and Summer weddings. I will also make more of an effort to help find bride to be outfits, things to wear to Bachelorette parties, and things like that. I also have a”shop” page on my blog where you can go and shop all of my favorite wedding guest season dresses. I update this pretty often and you can always find that page by clicking here. So that pretty much sums up most of the feedback that I got back from you guys. I really appreciate all of you taking the time to get back to me with your feedback. I care what you guys think and obviously want to show you all what you want to see. At the same time, I have to always remember to stay true to myself since this is my blog so I hope you understand that as well. I will do my best to post more casual looks and more occasion wear but my style will always 90% be going out/date night looks because that is just what I love.
