Hey everyone! Whiskey is making a debut on the blog today because August 22nd is National #Cat2Vet Day to raise awareness for the importance of vet visits! Cat health is so important, so I am very excited to be partnering with Royal Canin to talk more about the importance of taking your cat to the vet on a regular basis.
Taking Whiskey to the vet isn’t always the easiest task, but it’s so important for long-term health. Did you know that cats need regular preventative check-ups to keep them healthy and happy? I feel like a lot of cat owners forget how important vet visits are, me included. Cats are also stoic animals, so it can be difficult to tell when cats are not feeling well. Taking your cat to the vet yearly can help identify problems before they become serious. With the pandemic right now, it seems like everything is so out of the norm, but if you need to take your cat to the vet, many clinics are offering curbside services where pet owners can stay outside in their cars versus having to go in. You can tell your veterinary team what’s going on over the phone while they examine your cat. You can also ask your vet about virtual appointments; some clinics are starting to offer this for pet owners.
If you’ve followed me for a while then you know that we have had 2 very scary experiences with Whiskey where he almost didn’t make it. It quickly made me realize how important it is to make sure that we get Whiskey into the vet at least once a year and how important it is to check on his health. Vet visits can help pinpoint problems before they turn into serious issues. Trust me guys, you don’t want to ever go through what we went through with Whiskey! It’s not worth it. You guys know how much I love him and keeping him healthy is such a priority to us, especially now.
Together we can help raise awareness for all of our feline friends and help get them the care they really need! There are a few ways you can get more involved with the #Cat2Vet Campaign. Educating yourself on cats and their specific needs is a great way to help keep your cat healthy. If you want to learn more, you can read more here: https://www.royalcanin.com/us/cats/stay-curious.
You can also support the campaign with your purchase of Royal Canin cat food from chewy.com who supports veterinary care for shelter cats through GreaterGood.org.We pretty much always feed Whiskey Royal Canin from Chewy and he loves it so much! Such a great company and I love that they support such great initiatives.
XOXO,
Katy
